Public Records Requests - Police Dept.

If you want a copy of a police report, you need to fill out and submit a records request form.  Records requests are processed on Fridays.  Based on current public record laws in Oregon, there are many situations when a record is NOT public record.  For instance; any current court case (ticket/arrest/under consideration of charges), any report generated by another agency, or anything containing personal information will not be available to the public.  There is a fee for a copy of a case.  There is never a fee for the victim.   A police report is not the same as getting a criminal history.  If you need to obtain a criminal history/record you must contact the Oregon State Police.
