About Molalla Municipal Court
The City of Molalla operates as a city manager form of government under authority of a city charter. The City Council consists of a Mayor and six Councilors nominated and elected from the City at-large. The Mayor serves as the political head of the City. Mayor and Councilors all serve four-year terms. Terms of office for the Mayor and Councilors are limited to eight consecutive years. Appointed officers of the City include the City Manager, City Attorney, and the Municipal Court Judge. The City Manager appoints and supervises all other city employees.
The Municipal Court for the City of Molalla constitutes the City’s chartered judicial tribunal and hears cases arising under the Molalla Municipal Code, the Oregon Vehicle Code, and all misdemeanor charges, both traffic and non-traffic, most recently including Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII).
Business hours for the Molalla Municipal Court are Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30 p.m.
One full-time court clerk provides support services for Molalla Municipal Court functions. Traffic arraignments are heard on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month beginning at 8:30 a.m. Criminal proceedings and arraignments at the Molalla Municipal Court are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday starting at 10:00 a.m.
This Court adopts the provisions of the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure, Uniform Trial Court Rules Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, and Clackamas County Supplementary Local Rules if applicable to municipal court proceedings. Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction and is not a court of record, except as set forth in these Local Rules.
