On Monday morning, May 11, 2015, City of Molalla personnel discovered, immediately stopped and cleaned up, effluent from the City's wastewater treatment facility flowing at a rate less than the flow of a garden hose into Bear Creek. The discharge resulted from a failure in the wastewater treatment plant's computer system which has been fixed. City personnel also immediately cleaned up all released material. The city does not expect any impact to Bear Creek, but cautions the public that direct water contact with Bear Creek on Monday may have had the potential for exposure.
