WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT NOTIFICATION

Included with the attached link you will find a letter to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regarding the City of Molalla’s Wastewater Treatment Facility, as well as a draft agreement with DEQ.

The City has worked long and hard and infused thousands of your dollars over the past four (4) years to repair, maintain, and operate our Facility at the highest possible level. We have found that some of our historic commitments may be unattainable due to the type of Facility we currently have for our community. We have learned from our engineers and consultants that although the lagoon system is capable of meeting discharge requirements for our irrigation locations and the outfall at the Molalla River (Winter), it may be incapable of producing effluent to the level identified in our Recycled Water Reuse Plan as we had thought with regard to accepted lagoon technology.

The City is not discharging raw sewage or untreated effluent into your waterways and we will continue to work hard to produce the highest quality effluent possible.

Please review this information if you choose to do so and contact us if you would like clarification or more information.
