Public Works - Burning Weeds

According to Molalla Municipal Code 8.08.040 (G), property owners are responsible for weeds (including grass over 6 inches high) adjacent to their property, including the curb line. They are also responsible for tree trimming trees, bushes, ice remove, etc.

However, since the 4th of July Parade is coming, the Public Works utility crews, under direction of the City Manager, have elected to burn weeds in this curb line along the parade route and downtown. This does not alleviate the homeowners responsibility with regard to the code.
