PUBLIC NOTICE: Wastewater Treatment Plant Leak Test Warning Letter

CITY OF MOLALLA – Press Release – November 3, 2015

The City of Molalla received a warning letter with an opportunity to correct from the Department of Environmental Quality on October 30, 2015 regarding a leak test the City performed for the lagoons at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. In summary, DEQ has requested that the City obtain a 3rd party opinion due to the “inconclusive” nature of our leak test data.

Based on current DEQ standards we do not believe the Lagoons are leaking but we do have an aging treatment plant that contains many areas of deferred maintenance needs and data is skewed at times. The City is working hard to find the required dollars and have been fixing and replacing parts as issues arise.
