Water Plant Operator II

The City of Molalla is seeking a Water Plant Operator II

Salary range $54,350-$66,125 plus benefits and City paid PERS (Ability to earn 8% incentive pay)

The Water Plant Operator II is a full-time, represented position who works under the direction of the Public Works Division Manager and/or Public Works Operations Manager. 

This position performs operation and maintenance of the City of Molalla's Water Treatment Plant and associated portions of the water collection and distribution systems.  As the Direct Responsible Charge of the City's Water Treatment Plant, this role provides direction on day-to-day activities of the Water Operators assigned to the Water Treatment Plant.  This position is not authorized to initiate or implement disciplinary action, approve overtime, time off, nor any other right of management.

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus additional training in areas of water treatment, chemistry, biology, algebra, and electrical work equivalent to a two-year technical degree.
• Minimum Grade 2 Certification in Water Treatment with Filtration Endorsement or as required by the State of Oregon.
• Thorough knowledge of water technology and operations of water treatment facilities and OSHA safety regulation as pertaining to water systems.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating as a Grade 2 Certification in Water Treatment or out of state equivalent.
• Valid Oregon driver's license.
