Council President Jody Newland
Elected: 11/3/2020
Term Ends: 12/31/2024
"I moved to Molalla in 2010 after growing up in the Canby/Mulino area. My hubby, Tim, and I have been married nearly 29 years, and I will be retiring from my 24 year career of homeschooling my children in the next 2 years. We have 2 grown and married kiddos, and 2 still finishing up their high school years. We also welcomed our first grand baby to our family, and he is a joy!
I love staying busy, and have a special skill of organizing chaos. I’ve nicknamed myself a professional volunteer, because it fills most of my free time. I also like to work in my yard, read, and listen to podcasts.
I served on the Budget Committee Prior to being appointed to council in 2018. Then I was re-elected in 2020. It has been a great learning opportunity serving on council, and I really have a passion for teaching others how to be involved in local government, especially our youth." - Jody Newland
“A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.” -D. MacArthur
