The Planning Commission serves as the citizens' committee that reviews certain land use decisions, decides upon appeals and makes recommendations to the City Council on land use proposals. The Planning Commission is also responsible for maintaining and updating the city's comprehensive plan and supporting documents, the development code, and urban growth boundary.
To qualify for the Planning Commission, applicants must be U.S. citizens and submit a completed application for appointment to a citizen committee. Forms are available at City Hall and on-line (click here). Each application form shall include a brief statement of why the applicant wishes to serve on the Planning Commission. All candidates are welcome to include a resume with their applications. Appointments to the Planning Commission will be made by the Mayor.
Meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month. Special provisions are made for months where the first Wednesday falls on a holiday and as needed. Please see our public meeting page for date, time and location.
