Beachie Creek/Riverside Fires – These fires are being managed by the Feds. Hot Shot crews made some gains and they are holding steady. However, the fires are still burning.
Local fires (Wilhoit, Sawtell, Unger, Mulino) are all being managed by the Molalla Fire District and Colton Fire District. As people reentry they will see fire apparatus from a number of different agencies.
Police presence – We will keep Police presence in the City at high levels at least through Wednesday. Special thanks to Oregon City, Canby, Lake Oswego and West Linn for lending unit help so our officers can obtain much needed rest and keep our presence high. Clackamas County Deputies are also at a heightened level of presence so you will see multiple deputies rolling through town and at City Hall. I also need to mention Columbia County Sheriff, Milwaukie and Gladstone for their help during the evacuation.
Water – We have been able to keep our water treatment system and hydrant system at full capacity throughout this event.
Clackamas County EOC will be evaluating evacuation levels on a daily basis. We have no new information regarding this aspect. Wildfire Evacuation Zones
Air Quality is very poor. In fact it is considered hazardous by DEQ even well outside the fire zones in the State of Oregon. DEQ monitors air quality daily in the State of Oregon and Clackamas County delivers daily updates. More information can be found at this address https://www.oregon.gov/deq/aq/pages/aqi.aspx
Reentry – We had a calm night last night. We expect additional activity today. Please stay safe, be very observant and patient.
